Bottlecaps and trading

Bottlecaps are the money of the game. Traders buy and sell for Bottlecaps.

Balance

Section titled “Balance”

Bottlecaps go to your balance instead of going into your inventory. When you walk over Bottlecaps on the ground, they go to your balance, even with a full inventory.

The Bottlecaps line of the Scoreboard shows your balance. /balance shows it too.

Earnings

Section titled “Earnings”
  • Zombies you kill give Bottlecaps.
  • Traders buy what you find. See Traders.
  • Quests give Bottlecaps. See Quests.
  • Killing a player who has a bounty gives you their bounty. See Bounties.
  • A turf held by your clan brings Bottlecaps to the clan. See Clans and turfs.

Payment

Section titled “Payment”

/pay followed by a player and an amount sends Bottlecaps to that player. A tax is taken on the way. You cannot pay yourself.

Death

Section titled “Death”

When you die, you lose part of your Bottlecaps. One share is destroyed and the rest goes into your corpse. A very small balance loses nothing.

If a player killed you, a share of your Bottlecaps becomes a bounty on their head.
